The Giant is an art piece that I tried to get out from my comfort zone and challenged myself, which is adding 2D elements into the scene.
I painted(2D elements) the cloud in the background, the giant's head and ribs, all the bushes, vines, moss, flowers, and the warrior Oz.
I got inspired by Miyazaki Hayao's Ghibli anime styles, and I always wanted to create my own scene since I watched the animations when I was a kid.
The giant is symbolized of mankind once highly advanced in science and technology. However, nothing is forever, the advanced mankind destroyed each other by wars, and now it's gone. The wars almost destroy the world, but after the mankind was destroyed each others, the nature, the world came became beautiful again.
The warrior, Oz is the new generation, and life goes on.
I wanted to make a beautiful, yet lonely scene. I did not add any other animals in the scene to give that lonely feel to the scene.
